Melt the North Pole
01:57
|
|||
Christmas came on a Halloween
All the elves were snuggled up in their dreams
When all at once Mr. Clause burst onto the scene
And he said “Shake a leg boys, gotta break out the tree”
Cause these old seasons they just ain’t what they used to be
Winter's fading along the wild geese
Summer's here and it’s hoping to stay
But we’ll still give them Christmas
If Christmas is today
For just this day in the year
We'll fill there stockings up with cheer
Before they tear a whole in the atmosphere
And then they melt the North Pole

Taste the Snow
02:00
|
|||
See the wreath
On the door
Hear the labradoodle snore
On the house
In the snow
Pools of light of green and gold
Pink and red
Grab your sled
Push the homework from your head
Throw the Sash
Windows wide
Let the winter fill your mind
Hands in gloves
Stars above
Give yourself a little shove
Gaining speed
Gravity
Tumble out onto your knees
Taste the snow
See your breath
Feel your heart beat in your chest
Brilliant night
Crystal clear
The winter Solstice almost here
Christmas soon
Golden moon
The world is spinning just for you

Candy Cane Lane
04:06
|

Around here a lot of people meet cheer with drear
And yeah their path, it ain’t always clear
But it happens end of every year
A whole world opens up and it starts to appear
At first you gotta know where to look
Find the right foods to cook
It’s like a recipe you can read in a book
You get a Christmas tree
Pick a song you can sing
Find a present to bring
Put a wreath on your door
Read a book on the floor
Then before you know it you are
Up on candy cane lane
The sky is not the same
Your friends stop in to play a game
And all the snowmen have a name
There’s cookies cooling just for you
And eggnog on the counter too
There’s no more work you gotta to do
So come and spend a week or two
Some people forget that they’re able to play
The think that working is the point of the day
And yeah we all got bills to pay
But when you spend your life like that
Your joy fades away
So listen up and take the hand that’s offered to you
It’s not a secret there are things you can do
And if you’re feeling down you just pick a few
You get some gifts for your friends
Find a record to spin
Write a card you can send
Put some lights on your tree
Maybe think about me
And before you know it you’ll be
Up on candy cane lane
We got a lot of games to play
We got some gifts that we can make
And a couple pies to bake
There’s reindeer pulling Santa’s sleigh
And he’ll be singing all the way
And sure the sky is sometimes grey
But let's enjoy the holidays

I’m driving Uber on Christmas Day
There ain’t no toys in this sleigh
Just a couple of guys
Holding onto their lives
Worried that they’re slipping away
I’m driving you’re in the back
We got no gifts to unwrap
But I’ll take you there
No need to tip on the fare
It’s a holiday we’ll leave it at that
And I wonder about you
What are you going home to
Or where are you coming from
I picked you up around 1
And I’ll drop you at a quarter til 2
And after that I’ll grab a couple more rides
It’s just something to pass the time
Something to make a dime
And not spend the day
Alone in my mind
And later on when I’m watching TV
I wonder do you think about me
Do you remember my name
Are you watching the game
Its a wash I just turned off the screen
And now I guess I’m gonna go to bed
This month I’ve been in the red
But I’ll make up for it soon
I’ll get started by noon
I’ll keep it tight
Won’t let them get in my head

Christmas is a word
That maybe you’ve heard
On billboard or a TV set
It’s a red and green dream
It’s a business man's scheme
But Christmas means more than that
It’s about three kings
And the gifts that you bring
The joy you can pull from the air
It’s so easy to say no
Because it’s such a faint glow
But believe me
There’s magic there
Our culture has a way
Of making people say
Thanks but you can keep your cheer
But if you can be bold
Then try and make some gold
It puts magic in the rest of your year
It’s about the stars
It’s not theirs it’s ours
To love however we choose
And if you can’t believe
Can’t soften and sing
Then trust me it's you that will lose

Don't Hog the Nog
02:18
|
|||
I was hanging at a party on a wintry night
I was feeling pretty groovy when I saw quite a sight
And I said “hey, you got a lot there”
Don’t hog the nog
She was rocking and a rolling
When she saw me come a strolling
Gazing over at her big old glass
She was reaching for my hand
When I had to take a stand
So I said hey
Don’t hog the nog
Well she looked kind of offended
And my chance with her had ended
So I wandered on over to the bar
I went in for a dip
And was bout to take a sip
When I heard hey
Don’t hog the nog
Well I turned around befuddled
And I dropped a little puddle
Of nog out onto the living room floor
And to my great dismay
It was her that I'd heard say
Hey don’t hog the nog
Well she looked at me a smirkin'
She could see my brain a working
Trying figure out if it was just a joke
And while I stood there reflective
She repeated her directive
And said hey
Don’t hog the nog
Well at this point in to story
You could probably tell it for me
Cause it was obvious what happened to us next
We just started kissing
And from our mouths was dripping
All that nog
We snogged on nog
