This Halloween A breeze will blow across the houses covered in the fallen leaves The trees create a labyrinth of their shadows on the empty street And you and me will walk together underneath a golden moon And soon the emptiness of winter steps into our quiet room But now we'll light the jack o' lantern and leave him for our fallen friends And then we'll raise a glass and toast the fact that nothing really ends Our days an endless line of lovers lost forever in the maze The haze the hay and cider go and find her sleeping in her grave And say hey won't you come out darling one more night and we can play And stay til all the embers of the summer start to fade away It's ours this night where endings end and all the lonely spirits rise Our lives are tangled up together like two hornets in a hive Inside until the autumn grows so cold that they cannot survive And though they hold each other tightly one of them will have to go One stays and watches sadly while the other flies away He waits and hopes that maybe she'll return to him someday

Come With Me 01:10
I am The Queen of Halloween come with me and I will show you all you never would have seen If you won't let the summer leave or love a soul who has to go you know I'll return to you one evening When all the leaves fall from the trees I will come back on the breeze My love transcends the changing seasons And like a branch supports a vine You have spun your life to mine I'm here to hold you one more time

Ten 02:31
Ten for the end of the summer Gather a quilt to pull over Under the covers we'll lace our fingers together And whisper words about autumn And how the winter forgot him It slid right into November And blew on through to December Without a nod to the apple To the fire that crackles In the head of a pumpkin With the heart of a season Where the dead can go easy Or find a soul to receive them And come on back for an evening To a life as they left it With a whole new perspective With one foot in the exit And the other among us To haunt and to love us And to leave us to wonder Are they over or under Or still here in the echoes Of a life that they let go That we still believe in But less every season Until the only trace left After the strangeness of death fades Are the new things that grow From the ground Ten for the end of a lover Gather some dirt to throw over Under the cover One garden grows from another She sends her seeds to the surface With an annual purpose To create a new being To be carved into meaning With a half-headed smile A mind stringy and wild Who can see through the fire To the other dimension And he'll welcome the winter From his seat at the center Of the dead and the living And at the feast of Thanksgiving He'll give it all to the autumn From the summer that brought him And he laughs at the weary And implores them all dearly Pay attention more clearly To the green things that grow From the ground

I'm driving uber on halloween The witches and goblins are green But I won't get scared, you can tell by the hair It's a mask it's kind of easy to see But still I try to keep aware There's something strange in the air It's like a hint or a thought, beyond what's sold and what's bought Tonight I'll take a little more care But still I gotta do my job I already took too much off But I caught up on my sleep so for the next couple weeks I'm gonna drive until my bills are paid up And now I'm picking up another ride Hey miss yeah just get in on that side You look familiar to me, you wouldn't happen to be-- Oh wait no I remember now nevermind And it's funny what'll go through your brain These memories circle the drain There is a girl that I loved that you reminded me of But it's been so long now.. what was your name? Ok, guess that came off kind of weird Hello? maybe you just didn't hear But I look back in the mirror and find there's nobody there Were you at all or did you just disappear?

This is the song of the skeleton Who walks through the world again Dressed up in tattered skin And crumbling sediment He climbs up the window trim The house where he used to live He finds his old room again Does it remember him? And it's a sad song He has been gone so long The world has moved on Without him
6.
Down the street around the next corner There we'll meet on halloween day Shadows creep, the moon's at a quarter And soon all things asleep will awake And I'll see you again Oh darling how you been? The sun hangs low it sets in the orange sky Big and slow it sinks out of view Shadows grow they wax in the lamplight Soft and low you start to come through And I'll see you again Oh baby where you been? The moon won't shine the same Since I don't say your name The stars don't seem so bright Without you by my side The world moves on so fast But darling welcome back

The Queen of Halloween takes her last ride She slips among the trees in the dark night And everything she sees for the last time Calls to her-- to come again when she can And every summer knows that it must go It crackles in the heat of the orange glow The jack o' lantern speaks to the sad soul Come again-- and I will see you next time She's flying through the fog on her dark wings She's laying out a trail for the dead things On every halloween you can hear her say Follow me-- and I will lead you back here The Queen of Halloween takes her last ride She slips among the trees in the dark night And everything she sees for the last time Calls to her-- to come again when she can

I got a drum kit made of pumpkins And my new girlfriend is a witch I dressed my dog up like a candy corn Because that is my favorite dish And I'm been peeling grapes for eyeballs I've got spaghetti on the brain And I've been bobbing all these apples Just like a goldfish in the rain, why oh let me tell you I do You know I do love halloween I have been reading Sleepy Hallow And I've been watching Charlie Brown And I'm gonna take my god son Out trick or treating on the town And if this is my final message If it's the last you'll hear from me I want you all to please remember How much I do love halloween Come on, it's the changing of the seasons! My queen, she is the queen of halloween!
